Brake systems show significant benefit when coating technology is applied. Braking efficiency can be increased by reducing rotor/pad interface, i.e. reducing the occurrence of brake fade. Caliper and brake fluid temperatures can be reduced with ceramic coatings. Rotor and wheel bearing temperatures can also be reduced, as well as the attendant thermal transfer to the wheel/tire assembly.
CALIPER:
Insulates and radiates heat away from the calipers body.
Lowers brake fluid temperatures and heat related wear on piston
seal. Increases brake performance.
ROTOR:
Reduces wheel bearing temperatures and significant heat transfer to wheel/tire assembly.
Applied to non-contact surfaces of the rotor.
Reduces brake pad temperatures.
Performance increase when used with caliper and brake pad coatings.
DISC BRAKE PADS:
Reduces heat transfer to rotor,
wheel bearing and wheel/tire
assembly.
Applied to metal backing of disc brake pads.
Significant increase in braking performance, when used with caliper and rotor coatings.
HUB:
Slight performance gain on top of benefits mentioned above.
I.D. of hub is coated to reduce thermal transfer.
